  • b1.5 attempted to introduce critical hits. The idea was that you would deal half a heart more damage when falling. However, the developer did not take into account gravity, which means that your movement vector is always downwards unless you are clearly moving up. So in Beta 1.5–1.7.3, you always deal half a heart more damage.
